Christie's New York selling my work Sept 29. 2014

Christie's New York is selling a huge collection of my work on September 29th 2014.

The Triple XXX auction from the Don Sanders Collection sells work from:

Helmut Newton, Araki, Edward Weston, Robert Mapplethorpe, Lee Friedlander, Ralph Gibson, Thomas Ruff, Guenter Blum, Chuck Close, just to name a few.

Very impressive to be in such good company. The work curated for this auction is breathtaking and beautiful.
I can't express how honored I am to be part of this and how exciting it is to be on the cover of the catalog.

The image on the catalog cover  is from my "Venus" project from 2000. It is a collection of self-portraits photographed with an old SX70 Polaroid camera.

Also Christie's is selling my entire "Big Cat" Collection shot in 2008 including the behind the scenes diary.

A larger than life nude Self-Portrait is at the auction. This image was one of my first b&w prints I made after deciding to become a photographer.

What an impressive milestone in my career to see my work at Christie's New York

Working with Gemma Kahng

Gemma Kahng is one of my favorite fashion designers in the world. She is an icon and the most creative woman I have ever met.
Her work is incredible crafted and the details are mind blowing.
Her designs are more than super awesome, she is a true artist. I am so happy to own an amazing coat of her in my own collection.

I the 90ties she invented the power suit and celebrities like Madonna, Julia Roberts and Pink ( just to name a few) wear her creations.

I met Gemma for the first time in May last year at her studio in the Garment District in NYC while I was working there. We talked about art and all those amazing things we love and I was in awe to have met someone so creative and passionated.

We decided to collaborate on a project. Gemma invited me to her farm outside NYC to shoot the project. We all felt like in a Fellini movie... a big artistic family on this incredible location creating something we just wanted to. I could have stayed there forever.
The beautiful models Chloe and Lauren have been awesome to work with.

Ellen von Unwerth at the Fahey Klein Gallery Los Angeles

Last week I went at the opening of Ellen von Unwerths exhibition "Made in America" at the Fahey Klein Gallery.
I love Ellen for so many reasons. Her work is absolutely outstanding. I own all of her books and of course, I am so honored we share the same gallery here in Los Angeles.
It was fun meeting her last week at the super packed opening.
If you by chance are in Los Angeles, go and see her show.

so much has happened since the last post...

I have to admit, it has been way too long since my last update here. wow...and so much has happened since then...The past couple of month time was just flying by and I was occupied with work and projects, with planing and organizing, with travel and packing.....
Again, I am packing my suitcase and organizing my gear for my next trip to New York.

Also sometimes it is not possible to post and write about projects, that are just they remain to be unpublished...otherwise everyone has already seen it.

So here are some updates about my last publications around the globe in the past couple of month. So happy to see my work published in magazines and sometimes on their covers....
